The RhinoOMS Dashboard modules allow users to explore and interrogate their data, including registered rhinos, calf history, growth rate, summary tables, maps, and more.
Specifically, the Rhino Profile module allows users to view information about a registered rhino (such as species, gender, date of birth and age), as well as view an image of the individual, a map of sightings and an id kit.
To proceed, please ensure you have the following:
Select a study Site.
Select the Rhino name — Notch number — RhinoOMS ID you would like to view.
Click Retrieve Profile to load the information for the
specified rhino.
The generated profile will contain an image of the rhino on the
left and a map of sightings for that rhino on the right. Within the map,
you can change the background map as well as hide/show the sites. Scroll
to zoom in/out, and click and drag to move around the map. The default
image should be replaced with a representative photo within
Registered Rhinos > Edit Reference
module. Below the
image and map, the following data are presented:
gender, date of birth,
age, age class, and
mother.
An id kit is presented below the info boxes for the selected rhino. If
the selected animal is notched but it is not showing. For some notched
animals, there are multiple ways to obtain a specified notching number.
For these animals, the potential notching patterns can be flipped
through using the forward and back arrows below the notching schematic.
Natural tears will also be displayed if they have been added to ROMS.
These can be edited within the
Observations > Notching > Manager
module.
